Is Foundry the Right Personal Training Gym For You?

We often get asked what makes Foundry different from other gyms. And while we don’t spend our time comparing ourselves to others, we understand why people want to know what they’re getting into.

So, here’s an honest look at what Foundry is all about. No fluff, no hype, just a straightforward explanation of what we do and why it might be the right fit for you.

Why We Started

Foundry was born from a simple idea: that most people were getting short-changed by their gym experience. We didn’t enjoy going to big commercial gyms, so why would anyone else?

Instead of rows of machines and disengaged staff, we wanted to create a space where people enjoyed training. A place where you’re not just left to get on with it, but supported every step of the way. Somewhere that puts people first, not membership numbers.

What We Do Differently

We swapped oversized rooms full of unused kit for open space to move. Our coaches are qualified, experienced, and fully engaged—they’re not just there to count reps. We built a community-driven model where members know each other and feel a sense of belonging to something.

There’s no hard sell. No mirrors everywhere. No judgment. Just effective training, delivered in a supportive environment.

We offer small group personal training that focuses on strength, movement and progression. In addition, our fitness classes are designed to complement your training, focusing on cardio, endurance, and overall heart health. These sessions are varied, high-energy, and help round out your weekly programme without compromising recovery or results. The programming is structured, the coaching is hands-on, and the results are real.

Our Principles

At Foundry, we believe:

  • Strength is for everyone. Whether you want to feel stronger, lose weight or improve your fitness, a strong body supports it all.
  • Performance matters more than aesthetics. Of course, looking good is great. However, it means more when it’s supported by good movement and joint health.
  • Training should be functional. We train using movements, not just muscles. You’ll use free weights, bodyweight, and kit that mimics real-life movement.
  • Fads don’t work. We use proven methods, built on experience and evidence, not the latest gimmick.
  • You should enjoy training. Our sessions are challenging, but enjoyable. You won’t dread coming in, and you might look forward to it.
  • Fitness is inclusive. We coach people of all shapes, sizes and fitness levels. Everyone has a place here.

What You Can Expect

When you train at Foundry, you won’t be left to fend for yourself. You’ll be guided through your programme with a clear plan that fits your lifestyle and goals. We’ll explain the ‘why’ behind what you’re doing, so you understand the purpose of your training.

You’ll be surrounded by coaches who care and other members who are on their fitness journey. The atmosphere is welcoming and genuine. You’re not just another name on a spreadsheet.

We cap our membership numbers to ensure that everyone receives individual attention. You’ll be greeted by name and coached as an individual. It’s personal training in a small group setting, but it feels even more personal than most one-to-one sessions.

Is Foundry For You?

If you prefer to train alone, zone out with your headphones, and be left to your own devices, we might not be the best fit. And that’s okay. There’s no one-size-fits-all in fitness.

However, if you’re looking for accountability, expert coaching, and a community that genuinely wants to see you succeed, Foundry could be precisely what you need.

We’re here for those who are ready to take action but need support along the way. Whether your goal is to shed a few kilos, feel more energised, or get back into a routine that feels sustainable, we’ll help you get there.

We offer a no-pressure 21-day trial so you can experience it for yourself.

Our Personal Training Mission

Our mission has always been simple: to help people live better outside of the gym by providing world-class coaching inside it.

We’re not for everyone. But we might be just right for you.
