What’s It Like to Work at  Foundry

What does a typical day look like for a Coach at The Foundry?

Our coaches typically deliver 30–35 coaching hours per week, alongside daily operational tasks that keep each gym running smoothly. Every Monday, the team comes together for a meeting to align, learn, and plan for the week ahead. As coaches progress into leadership roles, their focus shifts – with our Gym Managers still leading from the front, delivering around 20 hours of coaching each week while driving standards across the team.

How do I progress from Coach to Senior Coach and beyond?

Progression is based on experience, performance, and attitude. Some coaches join us directly as Senior Coaches, while others work their way up through our structured training and development pathway. Show consistency, leadership, and a hunger to improve – and opportunities will come quickly.

What kind of training and development support do you provide at each level?

Through the Foundry Academy, every coach goes through our Introduction, Foundations, and Advanced courses – designed to teach “The Foundry Way” and continually upskill each team member. Your Gym Manager or Line Manager will support you throughout to make sure you’re progressing with confidence.

Do I need previous experience to apply for a coaching role?

Not necessarily. We believe we can teach the technical side, but we can’t teach attitude. We look for good people – those who care, can adapt, and are eager to learn. If you bring the right mindset, we’ll help you become a great coach.

What makes working at The Foundry different from other gyms or PT studios?

We do things differently – no mirrors, no headphones, no phones on the gym floor. It’s about real coaching, real connection, and a supportive team environment where everyone, coaches and members alike, are striving to be better together.

What opportunities exist beyond the gym floor — can I move into leadership or operations?

Absolutely. Most of our Gym Managers started as Coaches, and many have since moved into multi-site or operational leadership roles. With our continued growth, we’re always looking for talented people ready to step up and shape the future of The Foundry.
