Foundry enters next phase of growth with seven-figure investment and key appointments

Foundry closes its 3rd investment round since 2022, and prepares for significant expansion

Foundry was voted Best Fitness Facility in London 2023 at the London Lifestyle Awards, and is known for its inclusive and results-driven approach.

Since acquiring W10 in 2022, Foundry has gone from strength to strength under the stewardship of JC Vacassin, boasting five profitable sites and market-leading KPIs.

With the wider sector showing renewed growth and accelerating investment activity, Foundry’s unique business model has attracted new experienced investors to the cap table – as well as fantastic support from its existing investors.

This raise will enable the group to grow its estate significantly across 2024, both through acquisitions from a deep pipeline of opportunities, as well as new site developments.

Foundry will shortly rebrand an acquired, profitable site in an affluent commuter town (with tremendous potential for growth under the Foundry brand) as well as launch a second site in the heart of the City of London.

Fresh faces

Rob Foreman, a 20-year private equity veteran, joins as an investor and will lead the Board as Chairman. With a track record of optimising growth, Foreman’s expertise will be instrumental in shaping Foundry’s future.

Steph McCall joins as Finance Director, having spent her career in both the fitness sector, with The Gym Group, and broadcasting. She joins the Board of Directors.

The vision for growth

Co-Founder and Managing Director Jean-Claude Vacassin reflects on Foundry’s enduring mission:

“We’re really excited about this next step. Over a decade ago, we set out to reinvent what it means to be a gym: an inclusive, customer-centric experience focused on helping our members thrive – this mission remains our guiding principle.”

Rob Foreman, Chairman:

“Foundry’s commitment to a culture of excellence sets it apart in a market where demand for quality, personalised, convenient and long term training is increasing. The team, the business model, and KPIs attracted me to this opportunity, and we’re in a great position to grow the brand. I’m delighted to be involved.”
