If you’ve been coming to Foundry for a while, you’ve probably got used to our five class formats: STRONG, HYBRID, BUILD, BUILD & BURN, and SWEAT. But next year, we’re simplifying things with just two: SWEAT and HYBRID.
Our Ethos Hasn’t Changed
Our ethos is simple: we want to help you build strength while gaining the fitness to achieve whatever you want to achieve, in and out of the gym. This belief drives everything we do, from personal training to classes.
In 2025, we want to make it clearer than ever:
- PT is where you build strength, mobility, and confidence.
- Classes are where you focus on cardio fitness, heart health, and endurance.
By simplifying our class offerings, we’re making it easier for you to understand where to focus your efforts and how to balance strength training with fun, high-energy workouts.
Why the Change?
We want to help you get the best out of your training. Here’s the breakdown:
- Personal Training (PT): Delivered in groups of up to six, PT is where you learn to move better, increase strength, and build confidence using all the exercises you know and love (plus a few new ones!). This is where your main focus should be each week. If you already love these sessions, you’ve got nothing to worry about. We’re just adjusting our messaging for clarity and increasing availability.
- Fitness Classes: These are designed to supplement your strength training with high-paced, fun workouts that boost your cardio, burn extra calories, and improve your endurance. Even if strength training is your main thing, improving fitness can help you lift more by increasing your capacity to work.
With this in mind, we’ve streamlined our classes into two formats:
- SWEAT: Simple bodyweight movements mixed with intervals on cardio equipment to get your perspiration levels up and your heart pumping. These sessions are perfect for boosting heart health and endurance.
- HYBRID: A mix of dumbbells, kettlebells, D Balls, and other functional training equipment, combined with cardio bursts to challenge your muscle endurance as well as your heart and lungs. Think strength-endurance with a side of grit.
While we’re simplifying the class formats, we’re still offering about the same number of classes per week. Plus, there will be plenty of variety in how these sessions are programmed.
The Bigger Picture: Strength and Healthspan
We’re not just simplifying for the sake of it – we’re aligning everything with the latest science and what we know works best for your long-term health (you can read more about our approach to longevity here). Strength and VO2 max are the two most important pillars for healthspan.
Being functionally fit and feeling strong and confident doesn’t just make you feel better today – it helps you live stronger, for longer. Our classes have always been designed to complement your strength training, and this change deepens our commitment to that balance.
This isn’t about offering fewer classes – it’s about offering better ones, that work smarter alongside your PT sessions.
FAQs
- What about STRONG?
We’re going to be offering this class at Vauxhall every Sunday, focusing on delivering STRONG in the way it was always intended – as a conditioning class inspired by the World’s Strongest (Hu)Man competition. Vauxhall has the space, equipment, and layout to make this happen.
- I loved BUILD and BUILD & BURN – what now?
You’ll still see elements of these formats in HYBRID. Classes are intended to improve fitness, and if strength or muscle building is your goal, these are best achieved in our PT sessions where we can safely and effectively coach the movements for maximum results.
- What about STRETCH?
We’ll still be running some STRETCH classes at some of the sites – check in with your Head Coach for specifics.

This change is about making things clearer, simpler, and more effective for you. Strength, mobility, and functional training will always be the backbone of what we do in PT. Classes will now be the perfect complement – focused on cardio, heart health, and endurance.
