Foundry News: We’re Growing

Foundry enters next phase of growth with seven-figure investment and key appointments

We’re excited to announce the successful closure of our third investment round since 2022, preparing us for significant expansion. Voted Best Fitness Facility in London 2023 at the London Lifestyle Awards, and shortlisted for National Gym of the Year at the 2024 ukactive Awards, we’re scratching an itch for people with our inclusive and results-driven approach.

Since acquiring W10 in 2022, we have gone from strength to strength under the stewardship of JC Vacassin, boasting five profitable sites and market-leading KPIs.

With the wider sector showing renewed growth and accelerating investment activity, our unique business model has attracted new experienced investors to our cap table, alongside fantastic support from our existing investors.

This latest raise will enable us to significantly grow our estate across 2024, through both acquisitions from a deep pipeline of opportunities and new site developments. We’re in the process of opening Foundry Crowborough in the East Sussex countryside; as well as launching our seventh site in the heart of the City of London, Foundry Aldgate.

Fresh Faces

We are pleased to welcome Rob Foreman, a 20-year private equity veteran, who joins us as an investor and will lead our Board as Chairman. With a track record of optimising growth, Rob’s expertise will be instrumental in shaping our future. Additionally, Steph McCall joins us as Finance Director. With her experience in both the fitness sector with The Gym Group and in broadcasting, she will be a valuable addition to our Board of Directors.

The Vision for Growth

Co-Founder and Managing Director Jean-Claude Vacassin reflects on our enduring mission:

“We’re really excited about this next step. Over a decade ago, we set out to reinvent what it means to be a gym: an inclusive, customer-centric experience focused on helping our members thrive. Today, this mission remains our guiding principle.”

Rob Foreman, Chairman, adds:

“Foundry’s commitment to a culture of excellence sets it apart in a market where demand for quality, personalised, convenient, and long-term training is increasing. The team, the business model, and the KPIs attracted me to this opportunity, and we’re in a great position to grow the brand. I’m delighted to be involved.”
